Look to the Future
Whenever you start living in the past you are soon passed over.

I feel lucky to have bred, owned and sold several hounds that have made a significant contribution to the black and tan breed. Check the yarbooks for the last 25 years and you will find our name in a lot of pedigrees and our fair share in the winners circle.

Time however has passed me by. The ticker is flawed, the legs tire quickly, the ears don't hear like they did in the past and I can't participate in the hunts that I loved so much. I now hunt off my Yamaha-Kodiak 4x4 three to five nights a week weather permitting.

Today I feel that I own several outstanding hounds that can contribute to our breed in the future. I invite you to come for a hunt and pass your judgement on my present day hounds.

"BO" was a "Cooondog"!! Anyplace - Anytime - Any Conditions. He was competitive in any company.

Bo was 2nd highest scoring B&T at B&T Days 2003 - Green Castle, IN with 1075+

He had Nite Champion wins win the following states: Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Indiana to become a Grand Nite.

He won his 1st Nite Champion at Battle of the Breeds in Oklahoma winning King of the Hunt.

Bo is the ugly brother to Sam. He has been bred very little but has sired some top young hounds.

Bo was sold back to the Roughton family to be used in their breeding program. This family is breeeding and training some of the best hounds in the breed.

Sam has 4 wins toward GR NITE and 3 towards GR SHOW.

He refuses to hunt with strange males. I may never get him finished.

He was without a doubt a top reproducer, especially when he was bred to BLACKLAND BEAR or BLACKLAND ERNIE females. Also Schenkers Smokin Jet females clicked real well.

Bearcat was a natural from a litter of naturals, His littermate GR NT CH REED'S BLACK GRACE topped th RPI list this past year and his litter mate GYPSY is the dam of our GUS hound. We will use his son's and daughters in our breeding program. They have more GO-POWER than 99% of the B&Ts you are used to hunting with.

Bacon was a consistant winner all his life but was bred sparingly. He only had 27 pups on his ukc records. I've been fortunate to own several outstanding hounds in my lifetime. Bacon is one of the best coon dogs that I've ever had the priviledged to follow. He had a pup sell for $5000 this spring.
